Female Reading in Los Parientes Ricos
Abstract
The article proposes a critical approach to the fictionalization of reading in Los parientes ricos, Rafael Delgado’s third novel. It is proposed that this author established a counterpoint between two female characters that represent two opposite ways of reading, and that he took advantage of this resource to outline his position in relation to female reading and the novel. Likewise, it is suggested that one of these characters functions as a female alter ego for the writer, and that he expressed through her certain personal opinions regarding contemporary literature, aesthetics and art in general, aiming to establish a dialogue with his peersDownloads
