Abstract

Ángel Rama, instead of the mere analysis of literary speech, began to examine the ideology which caused that speech, the political and social structures that generated it and the elements derived from mass media and readers. So he was able to analyze, both deep and originally, Felisberto Hernández’s works. Without the work of Rama, this writer would have lost the dimension of his own originality.
