New intertextual discoveries in Oliverio Girondo: Baudelaire, Corbière and Rimbaud in Persuasión de los días
Abstract
This text presents three intertextual relationships connecting poems by Charles Baudelaire, Tristan Corbière, and Arthur Rimbaud with their counterparts in the poetry collection Persuasión de los días by the Argentine avant-garde poet Oliverio Girondo. In addition to employing the category of intertextuality for analysis —as adopted by Gérard Genette— it considers these links within the framework of the discussion initiated by critics such as Jorge Schwartz and Luciana del Gizzo, who first demonstrated the diversity of poetic registers evident in Girondo's work. The corroboration of these connections allows the author to suggest, toward the end of the exposition, new avenues of study for the poetry of Oliverio Girondo.Downloads
