Las fuentes literarias de la construcción bernaldiana de Doña Marina

Abstract

Assuming the influence that a diversity of documents could have had on Bernal Díaz del Castillo’s memory, the author of this paper aims at identifying the traits that compose doña Marina in a series of characters from writings that may have stimulated the imagination of the chroniclers of the New World. In doing so, and based on an exegetic revision of both historiographical and literary sources, this work would shed new light upon the figure of La Malinche.
