Abstract

This article starts from the importance ot the works on education and evangelization undertaken by the Jesuits in the New Spain, in order to fows on the legendary figure of Francisco Eusebio Kino (1645-1711) and his Crónica de la Pimería Alta o Favores celestiales, a travel which albuws account of immense importance us to know about Kino's life, his geographical discoveries and his interest to civilize and evangelize in the Pimería Alta, as well as the history, the nature, the social and political relations of this región and the writing practice of travel literature.
