Abstract

This article discusses the representation of homophobia in the story “Opus 123” by Inés Arredondo. The text describes the attitudes hostile to the protagonists of the story, Feliciano and Pepe, by his environment. The lives of both characters eventually destroyed by homophobic violence and hegemonic construction of masculinity. Thus, the text highlights the damage suffered by individuals —characters— that do not follow the basic binary —masculino/femenino— provisions of a hermetic device genre.
