Tragicomedia de la trasgresión en Arráncame la vida

Abstract

Catalina Ascencio is a rebel who eventually converts her expected role as accomplice of her homicidal husband into a weapon to expose his criminal nature; after he executes her lover, she becomes as adroit as her político husband at the secret craft of murder, killing him softly with a lethal slowacting tea. The reversals and black humor of the carnivalesque work well in this novelesque exploration of a feminine revolution which in truth is, tragicomically, a cooptation of the feminine by the masculine.
