La casa, el hombre, el orden: los himnos nacionales de Chile
Abstract
In different historical times, 1819 and 1847, the Chilean government asked for two national anthems to be written. The first one, dating back to the O´Higgins´period, has an emergent character, it alerts the citizens to beware of the spanish empire. The second one was written during the peaceful period of Bulnes, in order to restore friendly relationships with Spain. The poems have different styles and structures, but, semantically, are alike: both of them define the borders of the country and remind the energy of arauco´s tradition; both of them follow the french political model: the revolution of 1789 and its last survival act, the revolution of 1848.Downloads
